Websites for jewellery shops

A gold price is four numbers, not one, and it changes every morning. That is why most jeweller websites either hide prices or show figures that went stale weeks ago. Publishing the arithmetic solves both problems at once.

What usually goes wrong online in this trade

01

A fixed price is wrong within a day

Bullion rates are published each morning and adjusted locally. Any single number on a product page is misleading almost immediately.

02

Making charges are invisible, so you cannot compete on them

They range from roughly 6% to 25% of metal value. If yours are keen, hiding them inside a total means nobody knows.

03

Customers pay gold rate for stones

Where stone weight is not separated from metal weight, the buyer cannot check what they are being charged for.

How we build it

What the theme does about it

Not a feature list — each of these exists because of a specific problem above.

  • The bill itemised: metal value, making charge, 3% GST on metal, 5% GST on making, and hallmarking

  • The rate per gram and the date it was applied, printed against every piece

  • Stone weight listed separately from net metal weight

  • Items that are not rate-linked — silver, impon, imitation — flagged so buyers know which prices move

  • A dark gallery treatment, because gold reads correctly against near-black the way it does on a tray

Themes that suit this trade

Complete working storefronts. Open one and use it — the filters, the cart and the product pages are all real.

Questions owners ask us

Can the gold rate update automatically?

The price fields are structured for a daily rate feed. Connecting one is a small piece of additional work, and until then the date stamp makes a stale price visibly stale.

Should customers be able to buy gold online?

Usually no, and the theme is built on that assumption. High-value jewellery closes in the shop or over WhatsApp; the site's job is to get a serious buyer through the door informed.

Do you handle hallmark and GST display correctly?

The structure supports 916, 750 and 585 marks, and shows GST at 3% on metal and 5% on making charges separately. You supply the figures; the theme presents them properly.
