Websites for auto parts shops

One problem dominates this trade: wrong-fit returns. A part that fits a 2016 model does not fit the 2018 facelift, and “compatible with most cars” is how a shop guarantees a return.

What usually goes wrong online in this trade

01

Vague fitment causes every return

A wrong filter costs the part, a wasted trip and labour. The fitment data usually exists in the supplier catalogue and simply is not published.

02

Aftermarket sold as genuine

Genuine, OES and aftermarket are all legitimate at different prices. Blurring them wins one sale and loses the customer.

03

Per-piece prices on set items

Brake pads are replaced per axle. A price for one pad makes the job look a quarter of its real cost.

How we build it

What the theme does about it

Not a feature list — each of these exists because of a specific problem above.

  • Explicit fitment: make, model, year range and variant — plus a 'does not fit' line where a facelift changed the part

  • OEM part number published for independent cross-checking

  • Grade stated per line: genuine, OES or aftermarket

  • Sold-as quantity made explicit — axle set, pair, or individual

  • Warranty terms including what voids them, rather than discovered during a rejected claim

Questions owners ask us

We have thousands of part numbers. Is that workable?

It needs a fitment-filtered search rather than category browsing, which is a known addition. The data structure already supports it — the real task is importing your supplier catalogue.

Should we publish prices at all?

For counter retail, yes. Trade pricing is usually better kept to a quote, and the theme routes trade buyers to send a list on WhatsApp.

Can customers check fitment themselves?

The fitment list gets most of the way there, and the theme pushes chassis-number confirmation for anything uncertain. A registration lookup needs a licensed data provider.
