Design decisions
Each of these came out of researching how this trade actually sells, not from a style preference.
- 01
Publishes the bill as arithmetic — metal value, making charge and both GST components shown separately, with the rate and date used.
- 02
Every price carries the rate it was calculated on, so a stale price is visibly stale rather than quietly wrong.
- 03
Items that are not gold-rate linked — impon, silver — are flagged, so customers know which prices move and which do not.
- 04
Stone weight is listed apart from metal weight, so nobody pays gold rate for stones.
- 05
Dark gallery treatment with generous spacing and zero corner radius: gold reads correctly against a near-black ground, which is why jewellers use dark trays.

How it’s built
The specifics matter because they determine what the site costs to run, how fast it is, and whether you can move it later.
- Stack
- Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4
- Rendering
- Fully static export — every route is prerendered HTML, independently crawlable
- JavaScript
- No animation or UI library. Design tokens applied as scoped CSS custom properties
- Accessibility
- Semantic landmarks, labelled controls, visible focus, prefers-reduced-motion honoured
- Hosting
- Deploys to any static host including cPanel shared hosting — no Node runtime required
Suited to
- Family jewellers with a shop and repeat customers
- Goldsmiths competing on transparent making charges
- Shops that accept old gold in exchange
- Sellers carrying both rate-linked gold and flat-priced silver or imitation
What it doesn’t include
Stated up front rather than discovered later.
- Gold rates in the sample content are static. A live deployment should pull a daily rate — the price fields are structured for it, but no feed is included.
- No online payment for high-value gold. The theme is built to bring people into the shop or onto WhatsApp, which is how this trade actually closes.
- Product photography is not included; a graphic is generated per item from its colour pair.
- Built on RootPro's theme engine: 5 routes, with this theme's own palette, typefaces, card anatomy and layout variants.
