Design decisions

Each of these came out of researching how this trade actually sells, not from a style preference.

  • 01

Every part carries an explicit fitment list — make, model, year range and variant — plus a 'does not fit' line where a facelift changed the part.

  • 02

Grade is stated on every line: genuine, OES or aftermarket. Selling one as another is the trade's commonest dishonesty.

  • 03

Sold-as quantity is explicit (axle set of four, pair, individual), because a per-piece price on a set item looks cheaper than the job actually costs.

  • 04

Warranty includes what voids it — fitting pads to unmachined discs, for instance — which is normally discovered during a rejected claim.

  • 05

Amber on near-black, uppercase Archivo, zero radius, 0.85 density: a parts counter, readable under workshop lighting.

How it’s built

The specifics matter because they determine what the site costs to run, how fast it is, and whether you can move it later.

Stack
Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4
Rendering
Fully static export — every route is prerendered HTML, independently crawlable
JavaScript
No animation or UI library. Design tokens applied as scoped CSS custom properties
Accessibility
Semantic landmarks, labelled controls, visible focus, prefers-reduced-motion honoured
Hosting
Deploys to any static host including cPanel shared hosting — no Node runtime required

Suited to

  • Auto parts retailers and distributors
  • Workshops selling parts alongside labour
  • Businesses carrying genuine, OES and aftermarket side by side
  • Anywhere wrong-fit returns are a real cost

What it doesn’t include

Stated up front rather than discovered later.

  • OEM part numbers and fitment data are placeholders. Real fitment data is the single biggest content task for this theme and must come from the supplier catalogue.
  • No vehicle-registration lookup. That needs a licensed data provider and is scoped separately.
  • A real parts catalogue runs to tens of thousands of lines and needs a fitment-filtered search rather than category chips.
  • Built on RootPro's theme engine: 5 routes, with this theme's own palette, typefaces, card anatomy and layout variants.
