ZipMove

A packers-and-movers site for small and same-day moves — single items, part loads, hostel and bachelor shifts — priced per item with the stairs charge shown up front, not sprung on the day.

Design decisions

Each of these came out of researching how this trade actually sells, not from a style preference.

  • 01

Targets the segment the other three movers themes ignore: single items, part loads, hostel and bachelor shifts — small, same-day moves that big-mover sites either treat as an afterthought or quote as if they were a full household.

  • 02

Prices per item and per part-load rather than per BHK, with the copy explicitly rejecting the full-household minimum — the specific unfairness this segment feels.

  • 03

Puts the stairs-per-floor charge on the calculator as a tick-box, because carrying up a lift-less building is the charge that always catches this market by surprise. Showing it before booking is the whole trust play.

  • 04

Promises same-day only 'slot permitting' and commits to stating the next slot rather than missing a promised time — honest about the constraint the segment cares about most.

  • 05

The estimator is tuned to items and floors instead of home size, and its lower ±10% spread reflects that a small move is genuinely more predictable than a household — so it says 'for most small moves this is the price', not merely an estimate.

  • 06

Appliance carry-and-place states plainly that it excludes electrical and gas connection and points to a technician — an unprompted scope limit that prevents a dangerous misunderstanding.

  • 07

Young, friendly palette — soft blue-teal with a warm coral accent, rounded Bricolage, radius 14 — bright and casual where SumaKO is corporate, Kaaval severe and Padhukaap refined. Four movers themes, four unmistakably different rooms.

How it’s built

The specifics matter because they determine what the site costs to run, how fast it is, and whether you can move it later.

Stack
Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4
Rendering
Fully static export — every route is prerendered HTML, independently crawlable
JavaScript
No animation or UI library. Design tokens applied as scoped CSS custom properties
Accessibility
Semantic landmarks, labelled controls, visible focus, prefers-reduced-motion honoured
Hosting
Deploys to any static host including cPanel shared hosting — no Node runtime required

Suited to

  • Small-move, single-item and same-day operators
  • Movers targeting students, bachelors and young renters
  • Appliance delivery and carry-up services
  • Two-wheeler and mini-truck logistics businesses

What it doesn’t include

Stated up front rather than discovered later.

  • All rates, per-item prices, size multipliers and add-on charges are sample data and must be replaced with the operator's own figures. The stairs bands especially must reflect real labour cost.
  • This is a static site. Bookings and leads route to WhatsApp and the PHP lead endpoint; there is no live slot calendar or admin dashboard — slot availability is confirmed by the operator over chat.
  • The estimator uses selectable distance bands, not a live map lookup, because a static site cannot measure real road distance.
  • The 'for most small moves this is the price' claim depends on the operator's rates being set realistically. If the sample multipliers are left in, the prices will be confidently wrong.
  • Vehicle and small-move photography is the biggest visual upgrade available and is not included.
  • Built on RootPro's theme engine: 5 routes, with this theme's own palette, typefaces, card anatomy and layout variants.
