Design decisions

Each of these came out of researching how this trade actually sells, not from a style preference.

  • 01

Publishes the four-week rotation by day before signup. A monthly commitment made from three photographs is the reason subscription churn in this trade is what it is.

  • 02

Prints the per-meal figure beside every plan price, on a counted service-day basis rather than a flat thirty, so the discount between weekly, fortnightly and monthly is checkable arithmetic.

  • 03

States the skip deadline and the monthly carry-forward cap, and gives the operational reason — ingredients bought the evening before. Naming the cap costs signups and prevents every month-end dispute.

  • 04

Distinguishes a pause from a skip: pauses are uncapped and extend the cycle, skips are capped and credit meals. Two different problems, two different terms.

  • 05

Commits to a 45 minute delivery window rather than a time, and explains why an exact minute on a scooter route is a promise that will be broken.

  • 06

Marks non-veg days explicitly on the mixed plan, so a household can choose the vegetarian plan up front instead of discovering Wednesday mid-month.

  • 07

Prices the trial as the dearest per-meal option and says so, with the reason. Making the low-commitment option honestly expensive is more persuasive than a loss-leader.

  • 08

Explains why the two-meal plan is cheapest per meal — two deliveries to one address, not two addresses. Justified discounts read as competence rather than desperation.

  • 09

Shares the menu archetype with Sappadu and Virundhu and resembles neither: warm cream ground with a cool teal accent, spaced rows at 1.05, and a week grid where the others have a price list.

How it’s built

The specifics matter because they determine what the site costs to run, how fast it is, and whether you can move it later.

Stack
Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4
Rendering
Fully static export — every route is prerendered HTML, independently crawlable
JavaScript
No animation or UI library. Design tokens applied as scoped CSS custom properties
Accessibility
Semantic landmarks, labelled controls, visible focus, prefers-reduced-motion honoured
Hosting
Deploys to any static host including cPanel shared hosting — no Node runtime required

Suited to

  • Tiffin services and home kitchens on subscription
  • Hostel and working-professional mess operators
  • Cloud kitchens adding a recurring revenue line
  • Any meal service losing subscribers at the first month end

What it doesn’t include

Stated up front rather than discovered later.

  • Rates, day counts, rotation, windows and deposits are sample data and must be replaced with your own operating numbers.
  • FSSAI licence numbers are specific to a business. Never publish another operator's number.
  • No subscription billing or recurring payment. Recurring mandates need a gateway and a reconciliation process, and this theme routes signup to WhatsApp instead.
  • No delivery tracking. Live tracking on a multi-stop scooter route is expensive to build and the published window answers the same question.
  • The rotation grid must be kept current. A published menu that has gone stale is worse than no published menu, and this is the one piece of content that cannot be left alone.
  • Built on RootPro's theme engine: 5 routes, with this theme's own palette, typefaces, card anatomy and layout variants.
