Design decisions
Each of these came out of researching how this trade actually sells, not from a style preference.
- 01
Unit price — per kg, per litre or per piece — sits beside every pack price. This is the number a grocery basket is actually decided on, and publishing it makes shrinking packs visible instead of profitable.

Multi-size variants show their own unit price, so a buyer can see that 25 kg is Rs 58/kg against 5 kg at Rs 62/kg without doing the division themselves.

Fresh produce carries an explicit weight tolerance. Stating that a kilo means 950g–1,050g turns the trade's most frequent argument into a published term.

Substitution policy is a first-class field: nothing is swapped without consent, and the default is omit-and-refund rather than send-and-hope.
- 05
Cold-chain items are badged and flagged as needing in-person receipt, which prevents the spoiled-dairy dispute rather than arbitrating it later.

Dense four-column lattice at 0.9 density, because a provisions list is scanned rather than browsed — the opposite of a gallery theme.

What it doesn’t include
Stated up front rather than discovered later.
- Prices, unit prices and FSSAI references are sample data and must be replaced with your own. FSSAI licence numbers must never be copied from another business.
- No live inventory sync. A provisions catalogue changes daily, and stock status here is set manually unless connected to a billing system.
- Unit prices are stated in the sample data and are not calculated at build time. Wiring them to net quantity is a small addition and worth doing before launch.
- Delivery slotting and route planning are not included. Both matter at volume and neither is a storefront concern.
