Design decisions
Each of these came out of researching how this trade actually sells, not from a style preference.
- 01
Publishes foot length in centimetres for every size, which is the only reliable way to buy footwear remotely. A UK label alone is not a measurement and is the root cause of fit returns.
- 02
States whether a pair runs true, small or large against its own label — the thing every buyer wants to know and almost no catalogue admits.
- 03
Width fitting is a first-class spec field, not an omission. Most Indian footwear is cut to one width and never says which.
- 04
Upper material is named precisely: full grain, split, PU or textile. One item is explicitly badged as textile rather than borrowing leather's price signal.
- 05
Insole length is given alongside foot length, because insole is what actually constrains fit and it is what a factory works to.
- 06
Teaches the paper-and-pencil measuring method in the feature block, so the sizing data is actually usable rather than merely present.
- 07
Notes that vegetable-tanned leather is stiff for a week and moulds after, converting a predictable complaint into evidence of material knowledge.

How it’s built
The specifics matter because they determine what the site costs to run, how fast it is, and whether you can move it later.
- Stack
- Next.js 16 App Router, React 19, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS v4
- Rendering
- Fully static export — every route is prerendered HTML, independently crawlable
- JavaScript
- No animation or UI library. Design tokens applied as scoped CSS custom properties
- Accessibility
- Semantic landmarks, labelled controls, visible focus, prefers-reduced-motion honoured
- Hosting
- Deploys to any static host including cPanel shared hosting — no Node runtime required
Suited to
- Footwear retailers and manufacturers selling online
- Leather goods makers who need to separate genuine from synthetic
- Safety and industrial footwear suppliers
- Any seller whose returns are dominated by fit
What it doesn’t include
Stated up front rather than discovered later.
- All measurements are sample data. They must be replaced with figures measured from your own lasts, per size, or the sizing proposition is worthless.
- No virtual try-on or foot-scanning. Camera-based sizing is unreliable at the tolerance footwear needs, and the paper method is more accurate.
- Half-size availability differs by category here, which is deliberate — it reflects how the trade actually stocks.
- Safety certification claims must be backed by your supplier's test certificates before publishing.
- Built on RootPro's theme engine: 5 routes, with this theme's own palette, typefaces, card anatomy and layout variants.
